I am creating this blog to save day to day happenings and memories to share with my children at a later day...There maybe somethings that you read that you like and some that you don't but feel free to express you opinion in open manner as long as it is done in a respectful manner to me, my family and anyone else that may be reading this. Please remember this will be shared with my children at some point...
First of all let me do an introduction to my family and share nick names that have been created on another blog so that I can protect some of their privacy....and still keep my sanity by using this as my support group. I would also appreciate if what you read here stays here as these will be some of my thoughts and feelings as I make it through this blessed event we call life.
We are a foster/adoptive home with 11 children in it currently. I have 8 forever children and 3 children that we are caring for at the present time. Following is a list of the children and their nicknames...
Queen B-is 17.5 yrs old girl...she is our oldest biological child and loves to be in charge. So I bet all of you can guess what the "B" stands for....lol. She is 17.5 and hormonal...But at the end of the day I don't know what I would do without her and I am not looking forward to finding out. She goes to a charter school and does quite well although school is not her favorite past time. She is a wonderful young lady. She plans to open and run her own daycare when she gets her career going. She has a boyfriend that over all is a good kid, respectful and comes from a good family. I couldn't ask for much more when it comes to this child.
Jock-is 16 and our oldest biological son. He is into football and wrestling. He plays JV and Varsity football but his heart is really dedicated to wrestling and lives for the season to start. He is very smart in school and is usually always on the honor roll. Seems to be able to pull random facts and trivia out of his head. He is very competitive in all aspects of life. He wants to be a police officer or some other position of law enforcement when he becomes an adult and I think what ever he decided to do he will give it 100% like he does everything in his life. He has a girlfriend that seems to be very nice. She has very high morals and I look forward to getting to know her better. He goes to our local public school and plans to attend college
PITA-(Pain In The Ass)-the name says it all, he is 13 with several mental health diagnosis. He is our oldest adopted son. He makes lots of poor choices in life and seems to live his life to see who he can make mad and where he can cause chaos. He goes to a school for behaviorally challenged children and we continue to work with professionals so see if we can turn him around. He wrote in an all about me book that he wants to be a bank robber when he grows up....sad but true. He lives to eat and is at his happiest when he is eating or sleeping. Sleeping is his other favorite past time. He does love animals but even that can be challenging for him as he will hurt them if left unsupervised. Life is hard for him and with him.
Drama Queen-is 12 yrs old and very much a pre-teen. She is a wonderful, very mature child but also can be sneaky and manipulating. She is our oldest adopted daughter and is a recent welcomed addition to our family. She has lived with us for a year and a half but was just adopted in July of this year. She attends middle school at our local public school. He nick name came from the fact that nothing is ever a small thing with her and she has a very vivid imagination to say the least. She was involved in sports last school year but seems to be more interested in boys this year...She loves being on myspace and hanging out with her friends.
Fedex-yes this nickname came from the movie cheaper by the dozen and he took it for himself...he is a very small 12 yr old...who is about to start a growth hormone regimen due to some medical issues. He has severe adhd and that in itself is a challenge, even with meds...He has attempted several different sports but keeping his attention is an ongoing challenge. He is also adopted but has been in our home since he was 1 yr old. He loves to ride bikes, be outdoors and loves to catch bug and snakes.
Ms. Attitude-is 11 yrs old and again the name says it all. She is also biological sister to PITA. I forgot to mention that they are both second cousins to my hubby. She is also adopted and has been in our home since she was 18 months old. She has her own mental health issues that we are in the process of having diagnosed. She loves babies, swimming and playing with the younger children. She attends school at our local middle school and is in a self contained classroom. She is very social and loves spending time with other children.
Mamas boy-is 10 yrs old and this is the only name that would fit him. He has lived in our home since he was 3 days old and I could not be any more attached to him if I had given birth to him. He has autism and FAE, he also has a severe anxiety disorder if his routine is changed. He is very verbal and for that we feel very blessed. He loves to play his nintendo 64 and carries an adapted plastic pants hanger. He attends school at a local elementary school in a multi-handicapped classroom. He is very social and never forgets a name.
Little man-is 5 yrs old and the biological brother to Drama Queen. He is pretty mature for just 5 yrs old. He has lived in our home since he was 3 and was just adopted in July of this year. He loves to color and play with Ms. Attitude and Fedex. He has a lot of friends at school. Pizza is his favorite food and he loves his uncle Jay, whom he is named after. We changed his middle name at adoption to reflect his relationship with this uncle. He works hard at school and loves being praised for a job well done.
That is all of my forever children....Below will be a brief description of our foster children (they are not included in our family pic, not because we don't think of them as family but because we have to respect their privacy)....
Squeaky-is 5 yrs old and his nickname came from the tone of his voice. He has autism but is very high functioning. He has lived in our home for a year and five months. He LOVES to color and will do it for hours and hours if left alone.
Tank-is a two year old twin. He got his nickname due to him being so much larger than his twin and he just plows through everything and everyone in his way. He loves to ride his bike and be outside. He also loves his bottle and has been very hard to break. He is very attached to Queen B and Ms. Attitude. He has lived in our home since he was 8 months old.
Sleepy-is the other 2 yr old twin. He got his nickname from his love of taking naps and going nite nite. He enjoys being outside and is developing a real temper along with a sense of humor. He had multiple delays but is catching up quickly. He has lived in our home since he was 8 months old.
